Working closely with the Duchy of Cornwall, Comm Comm UK is delivering an in-depth programme of consultation and ongoing engagement on this exemplary sustainability project with 2,500 homes, up to 2,500 jobs and wide-reaching supporting infrastructure.

Our role:
Community consultation and stakeholder engagement
Amplify and shape key messages around the proposals, communicating the value the project can bring to Faversham and surrounding villages.
Existing site:
Brownfield site on the outskirts of Faversham
Currently farmland
Includes cricket ground and club house.
Scheme deliverables:
To create a new neighbourhood of 2,500 homes in Faversham
Exemplar placemaking - providing mixed tenure, high-quality, affordable homes
Estimated 2000 jobs
Shops, work and leisure spaces
New education facilities (including primary school)
Green space and play space
Upgrades to local highways infrastructure.
Communications undertaken:
Organised and coordinated two public exhibition events, providing an opportunity for the community to view proposals and provide feedback
Facilitated an online questionnaire, with Built ID, which provided key unique insight into local views relating to proposals
Worked with local organisations, sports clubs and community groups to understand their concerns and ambitions
Addressed opposition by local groups by sharing data, factual information and analysis about the need to deliver more affordable housing in Swale.
Partnerships with local charities, including Friends of the Earth to host exhibitions
Extensive SCI report for planning application
Ongoing ambassadorial work and community engagement, production of promotion brochures and myth-busting
Supporting the client with planning comment feedback and strategic advice.

Planning application submitted; expect Committee date in mid 2025.
