Showcasing the history of York Way
We are pleased to be working on the construction communications for York Way, a City of London estate in Islington. The project is due to deliver 91 new homes for social rent, across four new buildings on the estate.
The original post-war estate is situated on the former site of the Metropolitan cattle market and comprises 275 flats across four blocks.
We’ve been undertaking consultation with residents on the naming of the new buildings, the developments of landscaping and new play areas and liaising with the project team on milestone events. This week we have got the Topping Out ceremony, marking the highest point in the completion of the project.
This week the new hoarding around the construction site has also been unveiled, charting the history of the site from cattle market to present day. Comm Comm UK worked on the design, alongside members of the community, collating archive photos, checking dates and collecting memories from long-time residents.
Well done to Chris Sharp, the project manager on this project, it looks fantastic!
