Comm Comm UK focussed on building community consensus to overturn opposition from previous scheme. Planning consent was achieved at committee. Community forum meetings were instrumental in achieving success.

Our role:

  • To deliver the communications and public consultation strategy for the revised masterplan

Existing site:

  • 54-hectare site next to Enstone Airfield, Great Tew, Oxfordshire

  • Once part of the wider RAF Enstone, which was a satellite site to RAF Moreton-in-Marsh

  • Used as a stone processing plant for yellow Cotswold stone for the building industry

Scheme deliverables:

  • To bring the world class Peter Mullin car collection to the UK

  • Site to include a motor museum, events space, restaurant and demonstration track

  • 56 holiday homes also on site

  • To bring investment and employment to the area

  • Planned landscape to achieve a biodiversity net gain of 60-70% across the site

    Communications undertaken:

  • Worked closely with local parish councils to create a Community Forum to share information and understand concerns

  • Held public consultation event over two days in autumn 2022.

Status of scheme:

  • Planning consent was granted in 2023.
