Comm Comm UK worked with UCL Estates to secure planning for a new centre of excellence for the Queen Square Institute of Neurology and UK Dementia Research Institute.
The state-of-the-art centre will bring patients, clinicians and researchers together, in an environment that promises to improve understanding and breakthroughs to disabling neurological conditions. Other buildings on the site will also provide academic teaching space, which will complement the research uses.
Comm Comm UK developed an exemplar consultation and engagement programme to support the proposed scheme and UCL’s wider reputation within the local community.
A range of platforms and methods were used to present the project and ensure complex messages were tailored to each audience. Feedback was also collated and analysed at key points throughout the consultation phase. Comm Comm UK also produced a short documentary to promote the importance of the project within UCL and beyond the local community.
The applications were unanimously approved at Camden’s Planning Committee in September 2019.
